Another thing I find very hypocritical in my peers is the perception of public transport.
In our city, do not know anyone who prefers transport public convenience and selfishness of the car.
However, when we left Mexico, study or pleasure, we commend the transportation systems in other cities. It seems cool to travel with strangers and even the smell makes us curious and not contempt. We do not mind walking 5 or 6 blocks to get to our destinations, and although rain neve or wait patiently in the community.
not pretend ignore the fact that our transportation system is critical failures. The discomfort, the uncertainty of the times, the bad treatment of drivers, insecurity and the distances Homer make this not an option but a madness.
However, I am convinced that, as citizens, we have forgotten to make our public services better. Once we have sufficient purchasing power, we decided to privatize our transportation through the car. We decided not worth talking to Locatel and report to a driver, comfort matters most to the pollution they generate. We forget that, ultimately, the traffic is also a collective action problem.
So starting today, even from Tuesday to Friday choose not settle. And all drivers will report to fool. I will make an effort not to take my wallet when squeezed. And mine will be a less polluting car, causing traffic and forgetting that for all of us to do something, however insignificant and not noticeable.
